Biography

Mo Fry Pasic is an actor, writer, and comedian. They discovered comedy after retiring from their Division One Volleyball career having gained accolades as an All-American and Junior Olympian. They studied improv at UCB beginning in 2014 followed by The Annoyance theater performing runs of original sketch and comedy shows and on house teams. Inspired by friends they began Stand Up in the alt comedy Brooklyn scene. There they met life long friends and creative collaborator Tim Platt. Together the two began creating plays first in Brooklyn at Union Hall and then Off Broadway at Ars Nova. Their duo “Pasic and Platt” has been deemed “Titans of subversion” by Time Out New York for their genre pushing style of semi-improvised and surrealist dark comedies. Through this Mo discovered that while they adored comedy, their greatest joy lied in acting. Soon an incredible acting opportunity arose in collaborating with New York playwrights Julia Mounsey and Peter Mills Weiss. Together they co-created “50/50 Old School Animation” a bone chilling mediation of betrayal, misogyny, cycles of violence, and the nature of evil itself which debuted at the Jack Theater in 2016 and was featured in 2018 and 2019 at The Public’s Under The Radar festival. The play was critically reviewed with Howard Shaw of The New Yorker describing Mo’s performance as “Virtuosic” and Ben Brantley of The New York Times writing “There is boundless pain and self hatred at the heart of Ms. Pasic’s performance.” 50/50 went on to tour Europe beginning in Munich, Germany and was set to run in England April 2020. While the pandemic saw the close of 50/50 and of Mo’s successful bi monthly Stand Up comedy show “Trine” at the Freehand Hotel co-hosted with Sudi Green and Bowen Yang, it also pushed Mo to move to LA and focus solely on acting. They use their Reiki Master and Theta Energy Healing certifications along with their extensive knowledge of astrology and divination practices to inspire new creations and ways to heal through art. Mo uses their creative talents to advocate for survivors of sexual assault and are proudly open about their queerness and gender fluidity. Their next work, Worse Than You, debuted at the Elysian Theater in Los Angeles on June 30th 2023. It is directed by Mo’s dear friend and creative collaborator Sudi Green.
